Amazingly, Rafferty is really good at Flyball, he loves it (w00t) I think it's because it's very simple & he doesn't have to think too much about what to do

He has even been in teams in competitions & done really well.

It was a bit foggy today so the pics are a bit hazy but it didn't stop the furry fool :clown:

Woooo Hoooo (w00t) Look at those ears

Flyball is very exciting for dogs, it is so nice to see him enjoying himself!

love them ears, great to see dogs enjoying themselves

Awww - that's sweet! Rafferty looks like he's really enjoying himself. :D

Now he's kept that particular talent under a bushel. I bet he can show those collies a thing or two :)

YES, flyball is an excellent sport. Both my whippets play it and enjoy themselves and Jed had been in a team which came 3rd against quite strong opposition which were mostly collies. We run for the Hampshrie Harriers. I wish more whippets would join in and I find they can do very fast times.

The team we train with is called The Carry Ons & is based near Congleton. Raffy was drafted in at the 11th hour as a replacement for an injured dog in a competition last year & proved himself to be pretty good :b

It is a real mystery to me that he is so keen on it as it goes against everything he usually does. He is basically agoraphobic & doesn't like strange situations or loud environments. He won't do agility under show conditions as he gets stage fright (w00t)

But for some reason Flyball really winds him up, it's not even as though he is obsessed with tennis balls as he won't deign to chase one in the park. You threw it, you want it....you go get it

He is really fast when he bothers to move at all & can really whizz over those little jumps.

Hebe can also do flyball but then she can do pretty much anything I ask her to.....except stop barking :- "

Scrumpy had her very first lesson on Saturday & seems to be catching on quickly :))

I thought I recognised that little pup.....I have Murphy Whippet who runs for Leeds'owlers and agree Whippets/Lurchers are superb at the sport and there should be more.

Lovely pics :D
