Your box was full so i couldn't reply, but as i'd just wrote this i thought

i'd copy and paste it here......lazy aren't i

No they aren't expensive to keep but with my lot i buy my food/sand by the sack and hay by the bale so

i don't really have a figure but they dont need a lot of expensive stuff. I spend most money on keeping

them all in hammocks, that the little sod's eat every so often lol.

Maybe the males are a little more friendly than the girls but it is really down to the chin. They can all be

pretty tame if you take it slow and let them come to you in their own time. I have found the younger

they are the quicker they are to settle. But the odd one never really wants anything from you apart

from food lol and will grab it and run.

When mine come out i go on the stairs with them. I shut all the bedroom doors and they enjoy hopping

up and down the stairs. If you were to turn them loose in a room you would be in trouble unless they

were really tame. A lot of people let them have a run about in the bathroom (toilet seat down) as its

small and not too many places to tame. I use a show cage to get them from thier cage to the stairs or a

bit of carpet tube. I have a few that will let me carry them their. I have a couple who dont come out,

they like to stay in their cage, they panic if i take them out.

They aren't as mental as chipmunks thankfully. I have only been bit once and that was by one who got

my finger by mistake when i gave it a treat, they aren't biter's as a rule.

Give bigger treats next time to avoid been bitten    i once had the same thing happen with our pet rat and the poor thing died 2 days later with pneumonia and guess what happened to my finger  i got the pneumonia infection in it and was so painful and took ages to treat :(

So maybe you should have given the rat a
