And so i will, ive been wanting another whippet pup fer yonks, not just any whippet, but one of jills, im sure you can understand that, i dream of seing one of her pups run along side of mum, man i would be the proudest bloke, i will do my damn best to find homes for the pups, im sure i will, by my reckoning she's due in season this April, and i know fer a fact she'd be a fantastic mum.

Oh Keith the biggest shame in the world would be if you didn't breed from that amazingly gorgeous, beautiful Jill.... and i'm sure you would find more homes than she'll have pups!!!!!   :luck:

I know just how you feel. I felt the same way about Tess, but every season I put it off like you did last season, and now my vet and I think I have left it too late and I regret it so much. So go for it. It will be wonderful.

Wishing you all the best with this, by the sounds of it, Jill will be a fantastic Mum :luck:

I felt like that with Sidney, he is such a laid back and soft natured dog that I can see his pups being the same

I wouldn't know where to begin though with mating and such like so we opted to get another pup.... may be next time :- "

Can someone please tell me why its ok for Keith to breed from his lovely dog Gill when if anyone else says about breeding their whippet they get all sorts of abuse :- " Now this is nothing personal but it never ceases to amaze me how one rule for one and not for others.Gill is lovely im sure but what is so different from other posts when they want to breed their pet that they love dearly too??? Even if they have got homes lined up.I noticed that someone on another post said there were far too many whippets at the moment. Now im sure because I have dared to question Keith you will all give me what for.But its a shame people cant be more honest :( If anyone can explain why it is ok then I would like to know. This is a genuine question and not intended to upset anyone,im just curious.

I have no problem with anyone breeding from their dogs, it is however not a decision to be made lightly for the pups and dogs sake

well after reading that whippets are in the top 20 for most registrations in a breed id think people in the breed who have its best interests at heart wouldnt be doing any breeding at the moment until this situation gets a bit better.if a person is well established in a breed and has a waiting list which im sure a lot of people on here have then fine go ahead.its the other breeders i worry about.especially if they get pups that 'stick'what will they do with them? :(

if you havent a waiting list then maybe its a time to sit back and think about what youre doing.when one of the top breeders has publicly stated on here that she wont be mating her 2 champion bitches that are in season then id worry. :( cos lets face it patsy could have a waiting list as long as your arm so shes setting an example by NOT breeding  same old story too many pups chasing not enough good homes.i know other people on this site who WONT breed cos there arent enough good homes out there.theres a world of difference between a home and a good home.

as far as i know this is still great britain and the laws of free speech still apply so i dont see why some should 'give you what for' for daring to question keith.i think its a perfectly reasonable question :)

There's your answer graciepup - it's just a question of who sees the post first whether everything starts off with  's or  's
