Took these today,as i was having my tea. They just appeared out of the blue,so i grabbed the camera, and told everyone to shut it for a minute,in case the spooked them.I had both partner's today,so i know that in a week or two, they will bring the babies along, just like last year. They can become very tame, the little one's,and will come to within a couple of feet,to feed on the soft egg food n stuff,if you leave it for them. A beatifull Green Finch. And it seem's that they are multiplying a little too.As i seen the whole batch of them today, with mum n dad feeding them, below the bird table.Absolutely beautiful.BIRD__S_031.jpgMrs Greenfinch

the first ones definatley a gold finch

lovely birds visiting your garden

Yup,the first one is a goldfinch.I have a bird bred from one of these ,to a Red Factor canary. He is called a mule, and he sings all day,and does the old heart good. The Goldfinch,is a wonderful singer, and never stop's at this time of year. They also only breed in may, which is why they are a bit scarce.Ilike this one,as he's watching me like a HawkView attachment 45384

My Dad used to breed Mules when he was a kid, he says the sound from them is amazing! Lovely photos Billy, wish I was as lucky as you to have such fancy visitors in my garden.

Thanks billy, much appreciated, many years ago i bred yorkshire canaries, when they had eggs down i used to go out and find, greenfinch, linnets, goldfinch nests, if there was more than 5 eggs in those nests, i would take an egg from each, and stick em under my canaries, some good results, dunno what im doin wrong this year, its rare now blue tits or robins come into my garden, even the swallows have deserted me.

Keep them coming Billy

:( I get really big fat wood pidgeons in my garden. Last year one flew down and landed on my bird table and flattened it!!
