Tomorrow is the day that Horace will face the world on his own, without his mum :(

They both came home from the farm a couple of days ago and Rookie (mum) is returning

on her own tomorrow, whilst Horace stays here until he adjusts to his new life

Here a some pics I took this afternoon of their last day in the field together .................

Lazing around

I feel very sad that they two have to be parted now :( but at least I can keep an eye on Horace and he

will have Twiggy to keep him company (although I don't think Twiggy looks at it like that (w00t) )

Fingers crossed that they adjust OK

Awww Horace and his Mum are gorgeous

What height will he grow to ?

Thank you!! I am hoping he will make 16.2hh, alison.

His dad is 16.3 and mum is 16hh.

He's heading in the right direction anyway

Do you think he is going to have a cheeky personality ?

Just I always think Horaces are quite cheeky for some reason :teehee:

Here's a close up of Twiggy - she'll be 42 next year and, apart from failing eyesight,

she is fit and healthy

He got called Horace just after he was born.

The vet came to give him a check over and he was too lazy to get up - he

stayed horizontal, hence Horizontal Horace, lol!

He is a little bit cheeky ......... likes to show off and has a huge repertoire of

twists and turns ....... airs above the ground, as they say!!!!

When I register his name for racing, he will be Horatio Bay (unless someone else

nicks that name before he is 4 :- . I could register his name now but if, for some

reason, he doesn't get to the race track, it would be pointless spending money

registering his name at the moment)

great pics big sis ,hope all goes well

where have them 8 months gone ,Horace looks gorgeous :huggles:

Awww Twiggy is gorgeous too and what an amazing age to get to

(w00t) look at the size of him now jane

i remember when we had to take teddys mum away, he also had a feild mate (sunny) and he didnt seem to worry at all when i walked her down the feild to load her up ;) i think we worried about it more than they did :))

they both look great jane, it wont be long and your be getting ready to break him

will you do it yourself or send him away? i had a guy come to the yard to break a youngster i had, i was great fun and i was involved from day one, he used to leave me home work to do with Tia, and he used to come and work with her 3 days aweek :D

Lol, Julie!!!

Methinks I shall get someone else to back him -

he can't 'arf buck (w00t) (w00t)

Maybe I shall try when he is around 2 - do it

the Monty Roberts way and see if it works

Lovely pictures, i hope Horace and Mum soon adjust to their

seperate lives

I love that little hairy critter Twiggy :D

I like horse's at a distance  they always look a bit mental

to me close up, when they roll their eyes and toss their heads

about

Jane cant quite believe thats him now... (w00t)  Ive really enjoyed reading about him

and seeing him grow into a big handsome lad...

Isn't Horace utterly gorgeous. A big step for him tomorrow and hope it goes really well. Love the pics of him showing off his moves - what a stunning chap.

I am going to be moving my horse to a new yard to where I am moving too (in two weeks), never easy as he is so settled where he is - more worried about his move especially as I hope he likes his new friends!!!

Lovely photos of Horace and his Mum. :huggles:  He has really grown up, but he had such long legs even as a tiny foal. Hope the change in his life goes smoothly.

Twiggy is amazing - what a great age for a pony.

Aww Jane he looks stunning  Hope he settles without his mum
