Nice to see Fred and Stan getting out, you got lovely weather , love the waterfall pics !

We had a horizontal bannister....I know exactly what you mean, got someone in to replace it with barley twist spindles a few years ago, approx 22 spindles as it goes along the landing at the top, about £300 if I remember, but won't be that much if it just goes up the side of the stairs, pain to varnish but once they're done that's it ! They'd go nice in your room

I'm trying to work out where your limestone dales walk is :wacko: we went for a walk down Lathkill dale a couple of weeks ago, was it there as some of your photos look like ours!

All your pictures are beautiful, I particularly like the ones of Fred because he looks so like Molly :wub:

I think it was Millers Dale. The walk started from Miller's Dale car park. Following the Monsal trail, I eventually came to a large viaduct (no longer used by trains but used for abseiling), and followed the steps down to the river Wye and followed a path that led upto Wormhill a bit further along.

We have been there too, we walked from Ashford-under-water. That is one of our favourite walks but we haven't done it for a while. I think it also featured on Julia Bradbury's Railway Walks series too

Well remembered. She walked the Monsal Trail as far as the viaduct and tunnel which is where I had to cut down the steps as the tunnel is locked to the public. She was then allowed through the tunnel . Bet it was nice and damp...brrr. Much nicer to follow the river for a while and go back up t'other side
