I hate to break it to you Tammara ,but Wellnigh Beaubelles was never a Champion  In fact he was hardly shown at all . He was quite a `big boy ` , how do I know this , well he just happened to be Simon`s ( Director of Dondelayo )`s father too !!!

I will try to scan a picture of Simon for you to see

Sorry, I knew he was never a Champion  Again I think I wasn't completly awake when I wrote that  . Thanks for correcting Jax.
It wasnt ` your` mistake Tamara / :- " he`s down on the pedigree you put on as being a Champion !!!

Yes , there heads do look very similar dont they . Simon was a lovely dog and one of the soundest in the ring , but he was `top size` for them then , although I dont think he would be big now . The judge at Crufts was a`fawn `judge and everone one said I was wasting my time entering , but I thought I might never qualify again , So when we were placed second behind and in front of 2 fawns , I was well pleased , and the judge wrote in her critique . ! Tight feet , sound ,` and that was it :D ;)

His mother was called Eastern Silver Gem , I will have to sort out his pedigree to see how she was bred , Maybe Bee Jay can save me the trouble :- "

Beejay is really good like that Jax :D

Nice dog Morgan, I like his shape and balance.

Jax, lovely picture of you and Simon you look all sweet and innocent :x

Aren't those kind of shows some of the best memories :) ....... You were quite right to show him!!!!!

Here in France my friends often say to me that I am crazy to show under this one or that one..... but I try (sometimes I will show just once in my lifetime under one judge :- " but most of the time it turned out as a nice experience). I do believe that it's when you expect the less that you have the most ;) . In another way it can also be when you expect the most that you get the less  :( ;) :D :p !!!!!

I remember when I went to my very first "Nationale d' Elevage" (French National Specialty) with my first whippet, my solid blue Mimi... The judge was a famous Swedish judge and a personn I knew at that time said to me "why are you here you will get a very good that's all, he likes the type of my bitch". In an openclass of 42 my Mimi was kept in the 8 best of the class :) !!!!! And with an Excellent not a Very Good. What happened to the other? Thrown out :- " :- " !!

She wasn't placed at the end but I was so happy :D ......

"Tight feet, sound"!!!!!   Well at least there is "Sound" that really means something!!! He could also have written "Sound but not fawn"!!!!

Yes I would be very interested to see how Simon's dam was bred ;)

Thank you Karen :) .. The only matter with Shawn was that he didn't enjoy the shows at all. We manage to make him gain 3 titles including International but after that we saw no use of boring him longer.... He left the place to his much extrovert and charismatic half brother Spike.....

Wellnigh Beaubelles was the double g.sire of our first whippet Dondelayo Joyful Lass ( Ch.Samarkands Firewolf X Dondelayo Anjuli) He is ,therefore the (careful now) the G.G.G.G.G. sire of our 5 month old bitch pup. I believe Firewolf became a champion after we acquired Joyful Lass who had pricked ears. Some of the litters which followed included one or 2 pups with pricked ears. We did not breed from them. Our bitch pup at present carries her ears very well. Hopefully we are over that problem. She has lines to Pardee/Nevedith, Silkstone, Manoir de la Grenouillère UK/USA breeding. We have a photo of Beaubelles in a 1988 issue of the "Whippet Times". I scanned the photo but was unable to send it with this message. Regards, Stephen.

Stephen: It would have been great to see this picture, I've never seen any pictures of him.

Yes Samarkands Firewolf became an English Champion, he later went to Norway where he also gained his crown. From what can be seen from pictures he looked lovely  , but I can't say anything about the ears.

In France too there was a Firewolf son: Dondelayo Stuntman. I have to check my pedigrees to find his dam's name :- " :b . He was owned by Jacques Gayraud (XR de Chambord).

Regards

Tamara

In France too there was a Firewolf son:
Mayzee`s mum Carved Opal at Silkstone was by S Firewolf

Im sure I have a photo of` Beaubelles` somewhere  that Ann Knight gave me.

:D S. Firewolf is also there in my Fullertons dog ped...... his G.Grandfather......Firewolf being the sire of CH Firedance at Silkstone.......whos the dam of Silkstone Kiss of Fire, Freeways mum.

I have this photo of him........

Thank you Millie for posting the pic :flowers:

My Lady Dondelayo

and a lot of other old dogs that you not even seen pictures of!

Very interesting!

Stefan

EXTREMELY! how I would love to see Dior (I'm assuming "Diorissimo") on video. I adore his photo.

Sorry took awhile as I have only just read this thread.

Whilst in France we went to a show on the Sunday
 Oh Millie what I shame I didn't know you were in France :( , we could have met!!!! If there is a next time don't hesitate please to let me know then we could meet or I could just have given you some informations ;) . If anyone of you K9ers is preparing to travel to France don't hesitate to get in touch with me :huggles:

So these pictures were taken at Nantes International Dog show. The judge is Mr Jean Jacques Dupas. He is a judge I much appreciate (maybe just because he likes very much my dogs :b :p :teehee: :- "), he has already given CACIB tickets to both Mojo and Mia at the same show which is very rare :) ) The reason why I wasn't there is because in beginning of November he will judge at another show and mostly because I was expecting Mia to have her litter :) , I did well as it happened Sunday evening and night ;) !!!!

You were right Caroline the BOB winner is Sacha du Manoir de la Grenouillère (breeder/owner: J. Bourdin). Sacha is by Norvegian Ch. Play Mec du Manoir de la Grenouillère out of Reglisse du Manoir de la Grenouillère (out of Ch. Bohem Adam's Rib)

The BOS is Foreigner Technicolor (breeder/owner: Emmanuel Rigaud)

The 3rd dog I assume is the Best Junior, I don't know the name of this one but it's a dog from the "La Romance des Damoiseaux" kennels.

A MEGA MISTAKE WAS DONE THERE.............................................................

In fact the BOB winner was the young Foreigner TECHNICOLOR, the BOS was Ch. SACHA du Manoir de la Grenouillère. I saw my friend Emmanuel (Technicolor "Patsy"'s owner) yesterday and he told me that :b .... I am sorry I assumed Sacha was BOB as he was on the left!!

I just wonder why Jackie, who I know sometimes come to have a look here and did recently, didn't correct me. Now it's OK it's corrected!!!! :b

Here's a new picture of Patsy taken this week-end by myself at Nantes (Really this time ;) :D )......

:D Lovely pic Tamara but where's the results of Nantes ??? How did you do ?? :D

We did very well..... more than I hoped at least :D

Judge was LIsbeth Mach from SWitzerland

38 whippets entered

BOB "Patsy" Foreigner Technicolor CAC CACIB

BOS Saturday Scoop Von Hoehenzoller CAC CACIB

My Mojo won the championclass and went RCACIB. The judge said he is too big for her but he's 51 cm so   , but no big deal that is fine. Second in champion class was Sacha du Manoir de la Grenouillère.

Best Junior was Utaka von Hoehenzoller.

I also showed "My" Wendy, Actress High on Emotion who I hadn't shown for ages. She was a bit fat, but that was better than 2 months ago :D :- " . She did very well being second in open class bitches.

It was a very nice day in fact.

Here's a picture from the BOB BOS and Best JUnior
