Thought it about time my lot had somewhere they could just laze about on the floor for a while each day, with Alannah and myself. So i took the mad notion of sorting this load of old timber out.Cant wait to see it finished now,as Christmas is only around the corner. Will be great to have somewhere that i can spend a few quality hours with the pups too,as they need a bit of basic training now.

yes i think you need a hard standing base to keep it from rot

The two blocks of kennels that i have, one is on a hard standing with four runs and the other is on slabs.

Mmmmmmm

You don't fancy coming over to build one for my 2 GSDs by any chance :- " :D

The base, which is made of 4x2n1/2 inch timber,is sitting on treated timber slats, which are on top of a 4 inch bedding of 3/4 gravel. The gravel is down on top of hardfill, mostly, but there is good enough drainage..Was going to put down a concrete base, but there are pipes running under the shed, which can still be got at if necessary.Rest of roof went on today,so it should get a good chance to dry out now.As for long tailed fellows.Think the 30 odd cats, that live next door should sort any problems that may arise.Costing an arm n a leg this shed is.But it would cost a hell of a lot more to buy.All in,around £600.To buy, around £1.000+.Next door neighbour just bought a shed that would fit in mine more than twice.Cost them £700.Am now thinking of lifting all those safety tiles, that you can see in the 1st pic.Have 60 of them,at 1 meter sqare each.Power washed, they come up like new.To buy new, over £40 +VAT,each.Would buy some nice new decking, with what id get for them.
