INGA LOVES NOTHING MORE THAN TO EAT GARLIC!. NOT IN ITS RAW OR WHOLE STATE, BUT ANYTHING WITH GARLIC ON IT!

HE LOVES GARLIC BREAD, CHEESE WITH GARLIC, AND EVEN, WHEN I COOK ROAST CHICKEN THIGHS FOR HIM I PUT A SMALL AMOUNT OF GARLIC IN WITH IT, AND HE LICKS BOTH SIDES OF HIS HEAD FOR ABOUT 30 MINS AFTERWARDS!

WHEN HE SMELLS IT IN THE KITCHEN, HE SANDS YAPPING TILL ITS READY, AND, IS ALWAYS HAPPY TO COME AND HAVE A LOOK WHEN WE GET THE PIZZA OUT!.

HE ALSO LIKES MILDLY SPICED FOOD! (w00t)

ALL IN MODERATION OF COURSE, HE DOESNT TUCK INTO A MADRAS EVERY WEEKEND BUT HE LOVES THE TASTE.

ARE ANY OF THESE LIKELY TO HARM IN, BEAR IN MIND THEY ARE SMALL AMOUNTS, ALTHO GARLIC IS QUITE OFTEN.

Tess and Nana ADORE curry and pizza and chinese comes a close 3rd. They're both in great condition so it doesn't seem to be doing any harm

PHEW, IM GLAD THEN THAT ITS NOT ONLY INGA!.

CHINESE? HE LOVES THAT TO BITS! ESPECIALLY CRISPY CHILLI BEEF!

RUNS AROUND THE ROOM LICKING HIS LIPS WHEN HES EATEN THAT!

All my dogs always loved curry. Very HOT curry, that sort of blisters in the mouth hot. The first time i threw some on a compost heap and could not believe my eyes when the dogs and chooks fought over it. After that i just gave them the leftovers.

I believe raw garlic in large ammount can be dangerous, but I do not think the amounts you are talking is something to worry about.

A certain blue/white whippet has been known to empty the kitchen bin all over the floor to get to curry leftovers :b

OH always gives ours the cooked whole chillies from a curry, I don't hear him complaining (although we have to lick our lips a bit more than usual).

Garlic is often included in herbal medicines for dogs, supposed to be good for getting rid of worms. I have read in several places that onion is toxic to dogs (raw? cooked? ), so I'm more careful about what I give him now, just in case.

He used to like ALL fruit (even gooseberries/blackberries off the bush) but recently he's gone off all acidic fruit completely, as did my last dog when she was about 5 too.

Yes I give my dogs Garlic tablets too - they love them and eat them like a treat.

Digit's favourite ill-gotten gain (from his kitchen raiding exploits) is a whole bulb of raw garlic - which he sits in the hall nibbling clove by clove..then if he can he'll come give you a big garlicy kiss Mwah!

for obvious reasons, garlic is now kept on a high shelf out of whippet range

mine love everything!!! with 4 dogs there is always competition so I think they just convince themselves that everything tastes great - even my cooking

but their take-away favourite is prawn crackers  , which is ok by me cos I hate them!

 All mine love anything spicy but when we had our first whippet Jasper he would not eat anything at all.

This was until we discovered he had a passion for Haribo sweets . These were used to bribe him to eat, if he eat his food he could have a sweet. This lasted until he worked out how to get the lid of the tub.He then developed a liking for spaghetti bolognese so everything had tomato ketchup put in it.

Eventualy I bought Owen and so stopped worrying about his weight he started eating properly almost straight away This was as Iwas not showing him so Isaid if he didn't want to eat he would do without then he went to kennels whilst we were on holiday. Since then although he has days when he doesn't eat he generally eats his food as soon as it is put down

We haven't found a human food yet that the dogs don't relish!!

Just caught Vegas (our 2 year old) this weekend in the garden taking green peppers right off the plant.

Ate the whole thing....looked at us & smiled.

A couple of hours later the "after effects" could have stripped paint!!

Sam

:- )

Ours will eat anything leftover, I even make extra spag bol just so they get some.

 Spoiling them yet again.
