 Thanks for making us aware of this, ;) Di

Only ever had this once, and it was with my 1st ever lurcher puppy.Needless to say,he died, and was only 7 weeks old,and only had him a week. The breeder let me have another pup,a few weeks later, and he turned out to be a great all rounder. This dreaded thing is as bad as Parvo, when it hits an area hard.Hoping you all stay clear of it. ...Billy...

Thanks for putting this post on and letting us all no, it's very worrying to hear this as we live in the mentioned area, must say I haven't heard anything but it must be correct if that's what the vets are saying.

Lets all keep our dogs safe and hopefully no more deaths. :(

Thanks again

thanks for letting us know we went to heanor vets last friday for the puppy to be chipped they never said owt to us.. :(

norfolk and suffolk also have high rates of gastro and parvo, i did send a round robin text last week , thank you for posting

i havent heard of the whippets with parvo personally, although a litter of terriers nr suffolk all died sadly, along with some guard dog pups not sure what breed? i think some of those survived though?

people need to know whats about and to inform others of what is going round to protect others, hence why i got the text and passed it on

Parvo is very serious, have had one of my dogs take it in November and it took a lot to get him over it, with round the clock sryinge feeds. i posted a record of his changes through out his treatment from first diagnosis to finally getting the all clear.

have heard of the Gastro, and the sympton can be simlar to parvo, so be vigilant

if you even suspect anything is wrong see a vet

the round robin text idea is fab as you can inform many so quickly, thanks kev for posting your experince with parvo, a deadly disease which many dogs die of yearly despite valiant efforts , gastro is also dreadful and can be easily confused with parvo to the inexperienced

thanks to everyone who read and posted on this topic!!! lets all be aware and keep our dogs safe :) xx
