Has anyone ever traced their family tree? I am just going to start and am a bit overwhelmed by the number of sites available online. I wondered if anyone with experience has a favourite site they use. I am all ready with my pedigree form.
Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I have been doing my family tree for a couple of years now and have got back to 1684 on one line on my mother's side.

Family Search is a webpage run by the Mormons and is all free of charge.

I am a member of Ancestry and i've been with them a couple of years and i've got loads of info from them.

I have to warn you - it's very addictive and can be extremely frustrating at times.

Good Luck

The mormons site is great. We've used it quite a lot. I'm also a member of ancestry. It is amazing the things I have found on there. Found nothing that exciting though yet. Had no problems with the 1911 census. It has cleared up a few things that I was struggling to find. Agree about the number of credits though to view a document. Think it must be one of the most expensive that I've come across.
