Ann my girls are Tegan Angel Rosie Button Zoe and Freyja but they very rarely get called by their proer names

I always have bitches but my mum almost always refers to them as "HE". I tell her that they are GIRLS mum. "yes I know he is, I forget, she says"!! (w00t) :p

years ago i was a dog walker and along with Buddy the springer i also had Brian the jrt and yep - you guessed it - Sandra the Lurcher.......

i just shouted "dogs come here" :- "

I had a dog named Fleabag, it quickly became shortened to Bagga but to the uneducated ear it sounded for all the world like we kept shouting 'Bugger' when we recalled her. The looks and comments we got over the years were priceless. (w00t) (w00t) (w00t)

You can just imagine the scene, " Come here, Bugger" - people thought we were really rude to her - until they asked and found out the truth!

My lurcher had numerous names before we took him on - Jasper/Percy & Stan - we didn't feel any were appropriate so called him Captain Fantastic as he made Bagga's last 6 months of life wonderful.

My whippet didn't arrive with a name other than his pedigree one as he wasn't kept as a pet, although a little girl who was friendly with the family called him Taylor. A strange coincidence as we had almost called Captain Tinker, due to his traveller origins. We thought he needed a more glam name to fit in with his housemates and so became Presley. :)

Their names are so striking no-one gets them wrong.

It was always meant affectionately. She was a beautiful girl who only left us this summer at the age of 16. We had agreed when we collected her from the pound that we'd name her after the first thing she did. Unfortunately she had worms and scooted across the grass verge on her bum. We didn't fancy calling her Scooter so we had to rethink. :D There was an old lady waiting at the bus stop with us who started cooing over the pup, so we asked her what her name was - however her name was even more inappropriate for a dog, as she was called Kitty. (w00t) . By the time we got the pup home we discovered that not only had she got worms but fleas too. So the name Fleabag stuck! :p

I often call Lotte 'Fleabag', she wags her tail. No evidence of being offended. Bramble, who has hollow legs and looks rather skinny (can't keep the weight in despite eating copiously... just too energetic man!) is regularly called 'Bag'o bones' by my husband, and equally, he seems quite happy about it. Mind though, he has been referred to as 'Little s**t' also, when not bothering to listen to you in the park, and again, seems quite alright with the term. Funny thing is, Lotte peed on his head yesterday, quite on purpose I assure you, and he again seemed fine about that... now my husband is calling him 'learning difficulties boy'... :p

My friends neighbour has just had a puppy pug and his name is Roy!! Suits him though he's a cute little bugger
