My little Maya is in the vets on a drip, sunday night she had the runs and then monday night she was very quiet, this morning she wouldnt eat and drink and i noticed she was hot and had discharge from her vulva. I took her straight to the vets, the vet said she had a temprature and thougt she might have an infection from her spay. They have taken her in and she is on a drip and they agre giving her antibiotics.

Has anyone experienced this before? My two other females are spayed with n problems.

I am so sorry, poor little Maya :(

Sending healing thoughts and I hope she recovers quickly now she is getting some IV antibiotics into her :luck: :luck:

I hope she gets well soon :luck: :luck: :luck:

Hope she gets over this soon. What a worry for you. keep us posted, Hugs to Maya.

Thanks, they are keeping her in overnight to get more fluids in her. Hopefully i will be able to pick her up tomorrow night. God it is quiet here without her, she is normally running around like any normal 8 month old iggy. She just sat on my lap in the vets this morning, which broke my heart as normally she would be pulling on the lead trying to meet everyone and every dog. So worried about her.

Hope little Maya is feeling much better very soon :huggles:

aww she looks a sweet little girl, hope she's on the mend now and soon back to her normal self again

Hope it's all good news for Maya this morning and that she is soon home with you and on the mend :flowers:

So sorry to hear that Maya is poorly. :( Sending positive thoughts and hugs.  How is she today?

Thanks everyone, I picked her up last night and the vets said that she had been driving them insane yesterday!! Thats my girl. She had perked up and chewed through her drip line and then managed to chew her notes pinned to the outside of her cage. Well she is a 7 month old Iggy!!! The vet nurses were loving her though.

Anway she was great last night and had a play with Runa and Mojo and then had a sleepand i slept (sort of) downstairs on the sofa. Today she is full of life and beans. She is on painkillers and antibiotics, so hopefully the infection will clear up.

So scary as she went downhill so fast.

That's great news she's feeling better  :luck: :luck: :luck:

So good to hear that Maya is on the mend and behaving like a normal iggy again

May her full recovery be quick and complete
