Well, it started off well, but as we put up the gazebo for the weigh in, and had all the dogs queued up to weigh, the heavens opened! The gazebo stopped a little bit, but the rain was blowing sideways in, and before long our legs were soppy and wet!! With 162 dogs to weigh in, we had to get on with it - Steve knew he'd done it, by the time he'd lifted them all on and off! :sweating:

During the day we had showers, and it was amazing how we had bright spells when we were having a break, but it poured as we started racing again. Thanks to all the people who helped, Kevin Swain who ran the lure all day to perfection (he's booked for the NPWRA Champs in 2 weeks  ), Norman came all the way from up north, and still helped on the traps all day, Lou, Jo and Pat who took care of the paddock, Dan Bremner braved the weather all day to line judge, ably assisted by Jacquie Mullin and her little helper, Jane Drake, Peppermint Julie, Lesley Shearing, and a few of us Gloucs members. Got to say India Harris was wonderful on the PA. I don't know what Lesley and Yvonne were doing, probably having a tea break, but India sounded clear and precise, and I wonder now if she will take over that job from her mum???? Beats riding the bike in the rain eh India??? I'm so sorry the lad on the bike's name escapes me (my age is all I can say) but he did a great job in all that nasty weather, and still managed to smile.

I'm sure I will have forgotten someone somewhere, but thanks to everyone who helped and made the day a success.

Anyway, without any more ado - here's the results!

Well Done Glouceter For a day to remember, told that scruffy fella to hold my dog (Hes MY Brother) apparantly the poor guy had slept under a hedge awe nite.! Well done all runners winners finalists and SUPREME finalists.! See yous at the Champs.! Scoobs & Em.! ;)

congratulations, wcrch blue devil & highland lassie on making the final

Ah it was a great day wasn't it. Unfortunately the paddock gazebo took off during the semi's. Thanks to the man with the fawn whippet who tried to save it from doing worse destruction to peoples cars.

>Cons Final

1st Zakrobat

2nd Full of Beans

3rd Apache Jack Flash

OMG that would have been impossible. My Mousey (Full of Bean's) couldn't beat Spike (Apache Jack Flash) if Spike had been super glued in the traps.

Well done to all the helpers who braved the rain and wind and then sun which said 'take off your waterproof coats', only for us to find that it was raining hard again and our coats were a track length away. :)

Seems to me that that Tartan Army is getting stronger.

It was very, very nice to be having a laugh and joke with my racing friends again.

My particular fun highlight of the day was with a veteran group. I'd gone up to help Pam get her very keen Running Spikes off the lure. But I somehow :- ended up holding Ernie's Trying Again. So there were Running Spikes, Double Time and Trailblazer all on the lure. Judy leaves Double Time to help Pam with Running Spikes. Ernie meanwhile puts his lead around Double Time's neck leaving Trailblazer on his own.

Ernie then says summat like 'well that was easy we've got our own all dogs.' Judy then has to point out to him that he's actually caught her dog not his. So he is then having to struggle to get his lead off Double Time/

So there were 3 veteran dogs all giving the lure some grief with their respective owners to be honest looking rather clueless. It's just so fabbo to see the 'oldies' not giving a damn. (w00t)

Congrats to all the Winners and finalists and actually all the dogs and their owners who make it such a fine days racing.

Thanks for the crack folks.
