Every-one is panic buying water which is just HILARIOUS! There was a mention of a single pumping station in Glos being out of order and diversions from other stations are being made. Severn Trent asked people in certain households to be careful about how much water they used. There is now queing in the supermarkets all over the county like Christmas and and Sainsbury have limited purchasing of bottled water to 12 litres.I just bought wine :- "

I panic bought water :b but I was a bit late and we've filled containers up incase.

I heard it was the treatment plant in Tewkesbury that had got flooded and supply was limited until wednesday. But I hope your right Jo

It does seem Glos and Tewkesbury will be affected and will run out in 1-2 hours, but they will provide bottled water and large portable containers. I'll give you a bucket full Lou

Wine sounds (and tastes) better than water Joanna

We've had a major alert here in surrey, Its been on the news today rain has leaked in to our water supply and main pipes have burst and contaminated all water supplies so we have to boil our drinking water  so the poor dogs have to have milk and other ways of fluids, any suggestions please

Just boil a whole job lot of water at one go and let it go cool for the dogs  or Joanna's suggestion of wine (w00t) lol at least you'll have a quiet night with them

Beer? :- " How about buying ice cubes from the supermarket and defrosting them?

We could all post you a bottle of water if you are desparate.

Good idea I have ice cubes in the freezer, I must admit my boys like wine as well   (w00t)

That pumping station will effect those living in the Tewkesbury, Cheltenham and Gloucester areas + villages. There are now 150,000 homes in Gloucestershire without running water and more will follow. This is expected to last for 72 hours+. I expect one of those is my mother who is 76 years old and who depends on having an oxygen machine which runs off the electricity supply. A supply that as of this moment people are desperately trying to prevent from flooding. If it floods then 500,000 people will be without electricity. 450 homes in Tewkesbury and 150 in Gloucester as of this moment have no electricity.

So I guess that my mum and the other elderly and vulnerable people like her could just buy wine but she doesn't drink alcohol. She like plenty of others are just trying to keep going quietly in their own homes with dignity and independence.
