He was bred to go jumping, he is by Flemsfirth one of the Coolmore stallions :p . He was bought by one of our local trainers as a 4yo to go 'chasing but never actually made it to the races..... :- " !

He didnt see the point in keeping up with the others  ! And was also too careful a jumper..... :- " !

Who knows, he might even make an eventer :clown: !

He sounds wonderful. :)

How are himself and Pimms getting along now? Have you had Pimms out on many hacks with you since?

Yeh Pimme Roo LOVES    the beach.....! She goes mad, runs about in huge circles and splish splashes in the sea.  My friend who has a whip of the same age was telling me that he hates water, getting wet, and is generally a bit of a wuss...... Pimms is the complete opposite and loves mud, rain, getting filthy and paddling too  .
I would love to get Finn on the beach with Pimms, our only prob at the moment is lack of transport  . Plus as he is only really 6 weeks out of racing im not too sure how wise it is to give him wide open spaces just yet.  I might not have much in the way of brakes......  :b !

Thanks a million for posting the pics Millie.

Yes,brakes are a big problem with ex racers until they have been reschooled. My mare who was a hurdler was a nightmare in the beginning in open spaces, she was fine on hacks and in the school but any fast work at all just blew her mind, but if you take him back to basics and work on his flatwork (something a lot of the ex racers have'nt had too much of as not all trainers pay too much attention to that) it will pay off in the end.He looks a really nice sort and with whats behind him in his breeding should do well in eventing (if you can find the brakes! ) he looks like he has good bone too so should be able to take a few knocks.

All the best with him in whatever sphere you decide to tackle. :)

we have an ex race horse and two whippets ...You still have to keep a close eye on the whippets incase they have a mad moment as the horse would defend itself but otherwise they get on great.....When we got our horse last year I had the back checked by a physio as with racing they tend to throw the saddle on and can cause damage to the horses back muscles....this physio happened to be our dogs physio as a disc exploded in his back and she was there to help with his exercise routine and now rocket is running around again....

Gorgeous piccies! Pimms is so lovely and what a very pretty name :)

I too have horses, I don't YET have a whippet though :( Ruby my Chinese Crested like the horses, but the very first time she met them she wet herself! I would have minded but I was holding her at the time!
