There is an advert on a well known 'secondhand' website wanting a home for a greyhound (aged 10) and a whippet (aged 5), both bitches. I have been in touch with the owner who seems very genuine, as I was worried that he was advertising them as 'free' on such a website and was concerned they may fall into the wrong hands. I would love to have the space to have these two beautiful girls and they are very near me, in Accrington, Lancashire. They absolutely MUST go together. Both dogs are in good health, though the greyhound has a touch of arthritis in one of her legs. The man who has them was happy for me to post here on his behalf. Don't want to break rules by posting a link, although they are free to the right home, not for sale.

The owner of the dogs died and the man who has them is a family member who just doesn't have the time to give them what they need. He is keeping them until he finds exactly the right home. I have pointed him towards the oldies club website as well as they seem excellent at getting homes for pairs of dogs

Hmmm, it just happens I know someone in Bolton looking for a whippet, lovely home she took an elderly whippet from us a while back but sadly lsot her recently. She has a houseful of dog and has taken in older greyhounds in the past too so I wonder if she'd consider both?

I'll wait and see if he contacts Oldies so I can get all the details about them then I'll give her a call

What a promising lead  I have emailed the man who has the dogs and told him to get the details on Oldies Club ASAP. I would absolutely love to have them myself but have to wait 'til my home tutoring takes off before I can commit to another, so I know I'll be around most of the time :))

Unfortunately the lady I was thinking of might take the whippet but not both. I'll think again :(

What a shame :( Think the owner will hold out for a home for both of them, and I don't blame him. The girls have lost their original owner and must be confused. I don't think they should be separated - and people always want the whippie not the grey in these pairs :(

Have these girls found their home yet?
