The Scottish greyhound rescue charity, GAGAH - Give a Greyhound a Home - has produced a collection of four cards featuring my paintings of their greyhounds.

They are available as a pack of 4, one of each design, and cost £4 plus £1 post and packing.

GAGAH are a fantastic and tireless charity as all the rescue folk are. They thoroughly deserve support and I have met , painted (and cuddled) a great number of the wonderful dogs they have helped. I sell my greyhound paintings for them and wish I could do more.

They need money for veterinary fees, feeding and bedding and every penny is spent on the dogs' welfare. All its people are dedicated volunteers who can have as many as 30 dogs in kennels, foster-care and their own homes at any one time.

Until I met the GAGAH dogs a few years ago, I had only met greyhounds at dog shows but they are a wonderful breed and, as we all know, needs our help to cope with all the terrible things that are done to them. How people can treat these gentle giant so terribly really gets to me.

Please PM me if you would like to order cards. GAGAH thanks us all in advance. :huggles:

they are gorgeous cards well done to you for supporting such a worthwhile charity.we do our bit for greyhounds by giving them items that we buy from the wholesalers in order for them to sell them at car boot sales and fairs to raise funds.weve also got collecting boxes in the shops ,leaflets and help to raise awareness of the plight of greyhounds by putting up posters etc,and we donate money regulary to different greyhound charities .every little helps. :huggles: (ive never owned a grey i just was so moved to pity by the plight of these beautiful creatures) :(

Greyhound Rescue also do a variety of cards and gifts if anybody is interested and reasonably priced. I have purchased from them a few times now and their cards are good quality.

Have also recently purchased items from JR Whippet Rescue and these have been good also.

Fantastic paintings, I will be sending a pm shortly :)

In fact, I'm going to order 2 lots and stick one lot in a new frame which I've just bought

the fact of doing ur bit for charity is fine, 1 of my dogs was rescue but the fact is also true , they r way overpriced,, why so much?

That's not very expensive for cards. Take a look in the shops, most are now about £1.50 and don't forget the printing costs and need to ensure a reasonable donation for the charity.

I'm going to order some

Unless I've got it wrong it is £4 for a set of 4 which I think is cheap for cards. I hope I'm not being thick though

They are really nice and such a good cause. I think the price is justified really considering the work that goes into them.

Lovely paintings, Fiona, and a really nice pack of cards at a very reasonable price! I'd like some and will Pm you

 They are £4 for four cards, one of each design. I didn't think that was expensive - it's only £1 per card. You'd pay more than that in the shops. And the p+p has to cover the envelopes, the time and the 14 mile round trip to the post office

Fantastic value!

Look at how much you can pay for cards from the shops.

AND its a way of getting a tiny bit of zilloot art work!

I'm hoping she will sign the back of each of my cards and then I'm framing them.

So £4 for art work is a real bargain...........just wish I could afford some more of zilloot work

:( I know my work might seem expensive but when you break it down into the cost of buying materials and especially the time I put in it works out at less per hour than working in my local shops. I've been told by my business advisor to put my prices way up but I don't want to do that because then a lot of ordinary dog people couldn't afford any of it. My business advisor told me to aim at the rich people  but I much prefer people who just have dogs because they love them  :p

I have this print for sale at £35 unmounted, or £40 mounted. It's a limited edition of 50 so when they're all sold there's no more - they might be very rare in the future! The unmounted print comes rolled in a tube so the postage is only about £1 o:)

I love the print....I want one......money soooooooooo tight.

I know what you mean about pricing....I make cards and decoupage pictures. Got a stall this weekend....if I manage to shift some of my stuff I will order a print. Love your work :huggles:

Keep your fingers crossed that weather stays nice and people want to spend money!

There is also a small dog show....taking my 3

Yes I received mine too, thanks Fiona, they are beautiful. I wish I could paint :(

i know that anyone who works like you do making things themselves never get paid what they deserve!your business advisor is probably right hun but like you say you like to keep your art affordable.how about making just a few one off pieces so that they can be bought by the rich and famous?people being what they are if you charge more for them people will pay it as they like to have something exclusive.

I know! What I'm going to do is keep the prices for my commissions, like painting people's own dogs, down and make the price of my paintings in exhibitions much higher  Then people won't be put off thinking their own bit of art would be too expensive...

I love the cards Fiona...............One day soon I'll have a commision from you of my boys. (It's my 40th soon, Lloyd, if you read this, the meadow pic  )

I love the cards especially the canvas painting of the fawn boy with blue sky behind.

Jo

:huggles: Many thanks to everyone who sent cheques last week - cards went in the post first thing Monday
