This is just the dogs from one area and a very small proportion of the real problem
Unfortunately I know of one pounds that gets so many greyhounds handed in they don't even bother trying to rehome, they put them to sleep straight away.
It's great when individual trainers/owners take the responsibility of rehoming their dogs, or at least making sure they go to a rescue, but the bottom line is that greyhounds are bred in such vast numbers there will never be enough pet homes for all the retired/failed dogs.
