Scudder seems shy this week, but I am wanting to share photos of some of our beautiful puppies by Dual Ch. Diablesse Say Surrey Hill F.Ch. and Ch. Taejaan Innocent Eyes...."Pigalle" is by Am.Aust.Ch. Byerley Savile Row and "Delta" is by Aust. Ch. Taejaan One Step Closer. We had three boys and one girl from this litter.

This is our fawn boy, Augustine, at exactly 7 weeks of age:

We think he is pretty special.

Pedigree can be found HERE

We hope to have 8 week shots tomorrow.

What a scrumptious puppy, Karen. We are all getting so international, reading whippet pedigrees is going to take an immense amount of knowledge - maybe a Masters Degree??

There is keen interest here in international lines, to be sure. You will find many kennels are adding some UK blood or Swedish/Scandanvian, or Australian, to the mix.

Of course, there is a lot of UK import blood close up in most Aussie pedigrees, so yes, my litter does go back fairly quickly to the mother country especially behind Savile Row. Thanks to websites and the Whippet Archives, it's not nearly so hard to find a decent photo of a lot of these dogs as it would have been in prior years. I think that increases confidence in using the bloodlines.

Its absolutely pouring buckets here today so puppy pics may have to wait until the afternoon.

I'm super pleased with the puppies and they've been such an easy lot to take care of due to Delta's wonderful maternal instincts.

Anyone coming over to the AWC National will get to see 2-3. The girl's new owner is coming with her and I should have 1, maybe 2 boys with me.

Kristen

The girl pup left for her home a little earlier than expected. Her new owners didn't want to wait another weekend, so there won't be any eight week shots of her taken by us.

She is a silver fawn and white--these are 7 week photos:

Kristen and I have not been contributing much to Whippet overpopulation, that's for sure....I had two puppies last year, and now Delta has contributed a modest four.

I wouldn't have minded a larger litter, especially since the co-breeder has to do all the work on this one. :-

This is Delta's third litter. Her first litter was born in Australia and her second in California. She came to Kristen because of difficulties keeping her in a fence and has now found her forever happy home where she can hunt the countryside. No working-bred Whippet could be a keener and more efficient dispatcher of small game than Delta. The daddy dog is a good boy who stays in an ex-pen--we hope his non-jumping genes will predominate here!

Delta has champions now on three continents--with champion offspring in Australia, the US, and South Africa. We hope our pups will do as well as the ones from her two previous litters.

The babies are BEAUTIFUL!!!! Lovely bone, great shapes - will look forward to 8wk old piccy's.

Hmmm... Miss Delta - I wonder if it's because she was born in the land of the kangaroo that she's such a keen hunter???? We have Miss Sage who was whelped in Oz & now resides here in NZ who will scale a 6' fence like it was not there & her hunting instincts are seriously strong.... seems that her & Delta were blessed with the same springs in their legs & will to catch & chase :b Here's a piccy of Sage taken yesterday, this pukeko faught her all the way

We do think Delta is part Kangaroo. She can jump a nine-foot privacy fence like it was a baby gate.

Maybe the title needs to be changed to Half-Aussie/Half-US/one-quarter-Kangaroo Whippet Pups in the US! :D

  That sounds more appropriate - Sage has Aussie blood to, so more than happy to point the bad habbits at the Oz link

Any 8wk piccy's yet????

What a handsome young man

Good luck with him :luck: and lets hope he keeps his movement at daisy-cutting level, not fence-jumping action!!! (w00t)

Well, I guess that 8 week photos are kind of on hold. Not to worry--it's just lack of time and a willing helper, I am sure.

So, here are the other two pups from the 7 week set--

First, a fawn brindle parti boy:

Ok, now don't laugh--I blacked out my eyes because for some reason, they looked completely crazy in this photo. Sort of rolled back in my head, like a zombie. Trying to get good stacked puppy photos will do that to a person.

This is our blue brindle boy--just come in from the wet

bluebrindleboy.jpg

Ok, go ahead and laugh. Really, I don't mind. :b

Very nice babies - do like the blue brindle boy - the black out aint that funny :clown: Go on, be a sport, post the photo without the black out :D

We think the blue brindle boy is the most Aussie-looking of the lot.

I have destroyed the original of that photo--no can do on the crazy eyes.

 :clown:

What a fabulous looking litter. Wishing you every success with them.

Yes agree re his Aussie type - one I like very much & lots of lovely dogs behind his pedigree with this style. You keeping him????

Fawn Brindle Parti boy is LUSH.

Wishing you all the best with them.
