Good question- any chance my baby will have such stunning eyes?moriarte said:She is lovely  (praise indeed from one who doesn't usually like blues). How common is it for them to have the darker eye colour, most blues seem to be dilute?
I have seen some blue Danes with rather dark eyes. Dee Dee, mum of my new puppy also has dark eyes and the puppy looks as she may have brown eyes. I have to admit I prefer dark eye to the yellow.moriarte said:She is lovely  (praise indeed from one who doesn't usually like blues). It is a very deep, rich blue. Is there any 'recipe' for this? When breeding blue ducks (different species and genes admittedly) you get better, richer blues from black/blue crosses, rather than blue/blue or blue/white (splash). Being homozygous for full black helps as well.Seraphina said:Bluebelle is the most beautiful shade of blue, although in this moment she is loosing her winter coat. She is exactly the colour I used to strive for when breeding blue great Danes.
