I hope I am posting this in the right place. I have two male whippets (3 and 4 years old) who are both pedigree and KC registered. They are not race bred and are probably what you would call 'large' whippets so I don't expect they will win any prizes. But I would love to have a go with them. I live not far from Meopham in Kent so Harvel is literally on my doorstep. Is it possible for someone in the club to contact me and let me know whether I could come and see what it was all about when the season starts. Many thanks.

Harvel starts new season on the 6th March, and meetings are fortnightly thereafter . Most people arrive with their dogs around 10.30ish. Full address is Stonewood, Sandy Lane, Bean Nr Dartford DA2 8AJ

Honeyhill starts on the 13th March, and again meets fortnightly thereafter. The address is Hockers Lane, Detling, Maidstone, ME14 3JJ

Both clubs are very friendly and welcome anyone who has a whippet which they want to run.

Pedigree Whippets run in weight groups - the weight limit is 32 lbs. However people with heavier dogs are still welcome to 'trial' , and you should not be deterred - whippets once they start racing seem to shed weight amazingly.

Thank you very much. It is in my diary. We will come along on the 6th.

Hi KatMaPhi - is that your real name? :D

I echo Mike's welcome and will add - please call me on Saturday to confirm that the meeting goes ahead (07809-690976) At Harvel we have waterlogging problems in the spring and autumn, and in fact lost this corresponding fixture last year!

And at the risk of hi-jacking the topic - could I also remind members once more, that we will be holding a working party Sunday the week before. Bring your own paintbrushes please

Why, don't you like it? :(

I joined this forum a few years ago, but have not been on it recently. At the time I was getting bored using my real name so made up a mixture! The name is Kathy and the dogs are Wizard and Oliver. I am looking forward to meeting you all.

10am on the 27th for the workers please!

Free tractor driving and strimming lessons - don't say we never give you anything!

Kath it is then :) I wouldn't have been able to pronounce the message board one :)
