Has anyone’s dog had thick anal gland secretions and elevated liver levels?

A little TMI for some as this is about to be a very gross anal gland post.

I took my pup to the vet the other day for his annual checkup. When they went to express his glands they ended up expressing something that had the consistency of wet cement more than the oil they would normally secrete. He is on meds for what they presume is some sort of bacterial infection.

I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else’s dogs?

His liver numbers were also a bit elevated, although the vet said that could be due to the infection and his little body trying to process through..

Sorry, no but that sounds like it must have been uncomfortable. Hopefully he will be feeling better after getting rid of that.

Poor boy! No experience of that either I'm afraid, hopefully the meds will sort it.
