What a funny day it was. The paper that arrived with the passes said we were second in the ring at 11.30. We were watching the whippets when we were told we were not in the ring till 1.30 according to the catologue. Greyhounds eventually went into the ring at about 2pm. We had got there at about 9.30 expecting to be home by 1pm.

It was red hot in the tents and even hotter outside some of the dark coloured greyhounds were soaked under the taps as soon as they has finished in the ring. Button was hot but coped ok she was a little star in the ring she stood well and moved well but didn't get placed in the big pgb class 37 greyhounds entered 11 of them in post grad bitch.

Really wished I had not listened to OH and had entered William in post grad dog only 3 entered 2 turned up .He would have qualified at his first show after his RTA and I could have not shown him again all year. OH well what we would do in hind sight (w00t)

Congratulations...

As you can see from my threads I am heavily involved in Greyhounds rescue, and recently have some very young dogs looking for homes, and wondered if they maybe able to go onto the show ring,.

Altho our own rescue dogs www.kerrygreyhounds.co.uk are neutered and speyed before homing,

They guys im trying to home straight from the trainer are not...

If your doggie neutered as I thought dogs should be entire for the ring ?

Congrats again

I do loive the greys

You have to ask the kc permision to show a nuetered dog. I doubt as it would do any good in the show classes but would probably be ok at the shows with racing and coursing classes.

It is relatively easy to register a racing dog with the kc as long as you have its racing stud book. I had Button's stud book put into my name this cost nothing as it was also stamped retired and also asked the stud book for a copy of her pedigree which they stamped. I then downloaded form 9 from the kc web site it is for a working sheepdog but is the same form. I filled that in and sent it with all of her stud book paperwork to the kc .It took about 4-6 weeks altogether. It cost 5 pounds for the pedigree and 12 pounds to register with the kc

Only just seen this.

Well done Karen/kevin with Hattie, big class to win.
