I forgot the bit where I was told he was not going to interfere with our lives and was to go in kennels when we went on holiday. In the two years we have had him he has been on every holiday. If it is not dog friendly we do not go. It does restrict us a bit, but neither of us mind. My husband was very anti dog but his attitude has completely changed.

We don’t go without Misty either, I’d miss her as much as she’d miss us! There are so many lovely dog friendly places now, no need to leave them behind :)

The only rule I religiously kept to, for first two years, was no dog on the furniture. I sat on the floor most of the time! This was because they would be staying with friends when I went away, and their dog wasn't allowed wdd on the sofas After about their third trip something was said
about my Maya being great at cuddling up on the bed at night. Seems they'd always let them on the beds with them!! From that day onwards they've always been cuddled up with me!

Yep... Our retired greyhound slept in our bed for her entire life... Despite us both agreeing before we got her that she would never share the bed! She also had her own spot on the couch lol

Having had dogs all my life I know better than to make rules. They're a bit like new years resolutions. (only last a month) So the only rule I make is to learn from each dog and do better 'next time' that way I can honestly say everything is going as planned ! Murphy has his own bed downstairs but prefers to sleep under the dining room table or at the back of OH's chair. At night he sleeps upstairs in his own bed or on the bathroom floor if its hot.
Holidays are now real easy, dog friendly accommodation is getting more easy to find and so we just have lovely walking holidays together.
