Unfortunately i had re-home Zen :( (sobs her lil heart out). Just couldnt bring myself to write this months ago when she left us! Bug Lump in my throat now.

She kept escaping from my home and i was worried sick she'd get knocked over and had no choice but to find her a new mummy and daddy. I got in touch with the Whippet Rescue and they found a perfect home for her with 2 other Whippets to play with and has settled in well and is the boss in the house. They are retired and devote all their time to their dogs.

Feel bad now but couldnt be there when they came to collect her, but they phoned my mum say she was fine and they adore her. (sobs again and again) Blub.

So hope i'm still welcome here and can still have discussions about everyones doggies.

Remember Zen, she is below:

You did what was right for the dog which to me takes a lot of guts i"ll talk to you anytime you like. :))

Thank you "Paula Roberts" it is nice to know, i am very much still interested in Whippets, as in my opinion could not find a better friend / companion or timid canine. I still have this huge lump in my throat as miss her terribly.

I will have a look at your website now! :)

Thank you for your kind reply  (it means a lot)

p.s. I have PM's you

I agree with Paula - you were very brave in coming to the decision you did before something dreadful happened and she either got run over or taken whilst she was out and about. You can chat to me about my dogs any time and if you are down my way you are most welcome to come walking with us! I love your third photo btw.

Of course you are welcome here, I think you have shown tremendous courage to do what was best for Zen. She is obviously very happy in her new home and you should feel proud for putting her needs first. My friend has a border collie who keeps escaping and going walkabouts and I know how she is struggling at the moment.

Keep in touch through k9

Jenny

oh Poor you- what a horrible thing to have to do (I do know if I could cope without my girls), but the right, and brave, decision. :huggles:

Thank you very much everyone for your supportive replies. It helps that you understand why i had to make this gutting decision. Its comfort that she is happy and I wouldnt have let her go to anyone the Whippet Rescue wouldnt have found suitable.

I will be on here most days and will look forward to seeing new pics and chatting to members, miss the whippet world tonnes!

Sorry about Zen :( but hopefully gone to a lovely new home. Im sure you have very good reasons so Best wishes for the future to you both. :luck:

What a sad decision for you to have to make :( I'm so glad you were able to home Zen in a safe place with nice people and other whippy friends to give you the piece of mind that you did the right thing, it would have so much worse if she had been knocked down, good luck to you and Zen :luck:

Thanks Janimal & *Lesley*, it was a difficult decision but the best. I would never have forgiven myself if she had been run down or stolen.

Its nice to know people respect my very very sad and difficult decision.

But Zen is happy in her new home and thats what is important to me, that my best pal is enjoying life.. ((sobs again))
