To be honest its about time.. When Benny passed away aged 15 my vets said it was rare that they saw 15 year old dogs of any kind these days . He said years ago it was common his father often treated dogs who were15,16 or 17 but most dogs he saw now were lucky to reach 12. With all the advances in health care there has to be something else going on.. and as the saying goes You are what you eat.. Benny never saw a can or packet of food in his life (with us)

I agree it's great there is a trend towards healthier foods, and in particular I notice a much better range of healthy treats.

It's a shame they have to call feeding dogs healthy food a 'craze', and healthy foods being labelled 'gourment' or 'luxury'. Healthy dog food is no more gourment or luxury than a human diet high in fruit & veg and low on processed foods. This is going to put off less affluent people, who will also associate healthy dog food with the sort of dog who wears different-colour diamante collars every day and gets monthly spa treatments. But then it is the Daily Mail!
