Hi people,
I've been lurking on this forum for a couple of months now, and figured that tonight I actually have something to say. This afternoon I brought home from the vet's a lovely whippet girl called Cruiser.
Cruiser is between 3 and 4 years old and has been rescued from being shot. She was pregnant when rescued and had 7 puppies who are now 8 weeks old. She went from her foster home to the vet's this morning and was desexed and then came to live with us.
She is a lovely gentle girl who has already well and truly won our hearts already (except for the cat that is, but Leela will come around in time). She has never had a proper bed before (apparently she and her boyfriend slept on feedsacks in a farm shed, then at the foster home she had a blanket on the verandah floor), but has made herself very comfortable on the trampoline-style one I had waiting for her and is snuggled under her blankie. At the moment her blankie is just an old bedspread, but I will get the sewing machine out and make her some nice bedding very soon.
Of course she is feeling a bit sore and sorry for herself after the surgery today, but was coming up to both myself and my son for lots of snuggles and scratches during the evening, so think she is going to settle in just fine.
Looking forward to getting to know people on here
Anne
