Hi people,

I've been lurking on this forum for a couple of months now, and figured that tonight I actually have something to say. This afternoon I brought home from the vet's a lovely whippet girl called Cruiser.

Cruiser is between 3 and 4 years old and has been rescued from being shot. She was pregnant when rescued and had 7 puppies who are now 8 weeks old. She went from her foster home to the vet's this morning and was desexed and then came to live with us.

She is a lovely gentle girl who has already well and truly won our hearts already (except for the cat that is, but Leela will come around in time). She has never had a proper bed before (apparently she and her boyfriend slept on feedsacks in a farm shed, then at the foster home she had a blanket on the verandah floor), but has made herself very comfortable on the trampoline-style one I had waiting for her and is snuggled under her blankie. At the moment her blankie is just an old bedspread, but I will get the sewing machine out and make her some nice bedding very soon.

Of course she is feeling a bit sore and sorry for herself after the surgery today, but was coming up to both myself and my son for lots of snuggles and scratches during the evening, so think she is going to settle in just fine.

Looking forward to getting to know people on here

Hi Anne

Cheers from Rockhampton

Cruiser is a beautiful girl

She is very lucky that you have found her

Bit chilly down your way this morning I bet

Hope all the puppies have found good homes also

All the best with your new girl

Hi Anne,

Welcome to K9.

Cruiser looks lovely. Amazing eyes. My girl is always very dopey for days after surgery, so be prepared for her to get a bit livelier when she has recovered.

I am in Melbourne with my two whippets.

Enjoy Cruiser. Whippets are the best.

Hi Anne and welcome to K9

I have always believed that a whippet's eyes are the windows to their souls.

I am sure that Cruiser will bring as much joy to your life as you have to hers.
