Dylan has had a sore paw for ages. Initially he had a biopsy and thankfully not cancer. Given a course of antibiotics and it began to clear up, but as soon as he stopped taking them the sores reappeared. He’s been on antibiotics on and off since October. Vet said they thought it might be a small splinter/grass seed that was moving about. They operated in January- couldn’t see anything obvious but gave his paw a good clean out. We now have a double problem because he won’t leave the wound alone, it’s nearly healed so many times but then he’ll give it a lick and make it worse again - despite him wearing 2 collars of shame and having his paw covered at night.
Has anyone got any ideas about what the problem may be and what we can do to treat.

I imagine this has been done already, but just in case - has a sample been tested from his wound, to make sure the antibiotics are targeted?

I’m taking him to the vets (AGAIN) tomorrow so will ask. Thank you
