It’s his first trip to the beach. We have booked a cottage right on the seafront. Is it safe to take him on the beach? Any local dog walkers with advice would be really helpful! Thanks! Gail x

There have been a couple of posts on here about dogs eating stuff on the beach and poisoning themselves, so although that might nor be in your area, I'd keep a close eye on things. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable and local will be along soon...

I would just err on the side of caution, & wouldn't let my dog off leash, nor let them EAT anything in the tidewrack, or DRINK or WADE IN the surf; so long as U don't let the dog consume anything, & they're not walking in algae-laced water, i think it's safe. :)

i wouldn't let my dog walk on tidewrack as a general principle, just in case there are fish-hooks or other hidden dangers, such as sharp fish bones, among the seaweed. Treble-hooks are especially horrible, they're very difficult to remove.
