HELP, Sparky has had a red felt-tip pen and he is covered in red spots and blotches, what should I use to try and remove it. I've got a cupboard full of stuff to remove it from the carpet and his bed; which is where he sneaked off to with it and then lay in the mess; but nothing that says it removes it from whippets.

All pens and pencils are usualy put up high where he can't get them but one unguarded moment and that was it.

This is a serious plea for help, I've got to try and get it out because I'm due to show him again next week. Do you think he is trying to tell me something.

Yes. He'd rather be a brindle :- "

Assuming he's a light fawn or with major white parts you could try giving the affected bits a wash using a handful of washing powder and a small amount of water. Rub the paste into the felt-tip marks - it won't harm him - and it MAY work lol I used this method to remove glue marks after a lengthy bandaged period on Ellie's leg - it worked for that but with felt-tip - who knows!

I know that milk takes pen off shirts.... it would be worth trying...

Nail varnish remover pads are quite good - shouldnt hurt him if its not near any private bits. (w00t) then wash with a bit doggy shampoo afterwards

Vanish? As long as you don't use enough to soak through to his skin, it might do the trick. :luck:

my lad did a similar thing the night before crufts, he is white and he nicked a black permanent marker and chewed it , he looked like a three year old had been sketching on him  i used pretty much everything in the bathroom to get it off, it should come out of his coat no problem with ordinary soap/shampoo i'd avoid anything too harsh though. it does seem to stain the skin a bit but if you have nearly a week you can keep working at it, just be careful not to irritate his skin, good luck

You really must tell him that until hes old enough he CANT have pens

I see hes still be an angel then  Dont you just love`m :- "

At night me and OH sit and wait to see what Harvee and India bring in next .. From very large snails , poo (w00t) to bits off my plants ( Harvee really loves the stems from begonias  ) and of course NOTHING is safe in the house that can be reached is it ?

Thank you all for your replies and advice. Have enclosed a picture, he's like this all over, but have had a good go as Beaker suggested and we have done very well. I'll just keep working at it until it's all gone. He smells lovely now, must be the Molton Brown we pinched from Sarah's room.

I think he was inteding to write to Jax to ask if he could go and live at her house but he couldn't find any paper to pinch.

Thanks again

Jenny and Sparky who is a Red Fawn now.

Ohhh, Sparky!! (w00t) (w00t)

Worth a little rub with baby wet wipes - my little boy covered his entire face with green pen once (our fault, we had bought him a Peter Pan outfit and he thought it would be a nice surprise for us if he had a green face too!! :- " ) and to my amazement wet wipes cleaned him up beautifully!  :luck:

:luck: :luck: Good luck at the show next week - we'll want to hear all about it! :p

And by the way, we could really do with a whole picture of Sparky next time - haven't seen one of him for ages!!! :huggles:

Try using some lemon. When Savvy had her incident with the biro just before we went in the ring Wendy (Millie) gave us lemon wet wipes and they took it right out. I bet straight lemon juice might do the same.
