Hi All,What a night, bloody fireworks all over the place. At 5 oclock last night i had a normal whippet since then all hell broke loose, from then until after midnight it sounded like the battle of the somme out here,i have a shaking panting wreck of a dog.She never bothered about them last year.Ive just kept to our normal routine since but her heart was going ten to the dozen last night. She is very quiet and subdued to day but she has eaten her chicken wing this morning.Thank you all for your tips and advice on this issue.I really don't know what i would do without K9 in situations like this. :(

i went in the yard this morning and i picked a firework up near the motor if it had hit the car it would have put a hole in the bodywork,it was a metal pointed head, they sell some bad things this would kill a person if it hit them, they should monitor these things they can easily kill a person

Fireworks started here at 8, wee Paris spent all night under the chair and we had to take Sasha in...

my three don,t bother with them they sit and watch them when they go off i have had fire works for the past two week hear and till late at night fed up with them especially when its after 12 at night
Our poor we chichuhua Blossom and our we yorkie Ziggy were scared out of their wits last night with the bangers going off. Blossom curled up on my knee all night and would not leave me. She was so distressed. We Ziggy, everytime a banger went off he barked himself hoarse and hid in behind the sofa. The big dogs outside were so terrified they never came out of their kennels all night. Its a disgrace. These poor dumb animals do not understand these loud bangs, it should not be allowed in residential areas. There should be designated areas and times where these bangers are let off out in the sticks away from animals and old people. They get very distressed also, and cant sleep. In fact some sit up all night. I am not a spoil sport, but think more thought should be given around this time of year.

Know where you're coming from Gary, Kerri is the only one of ours that is terrified and she's 5 weeks in pup today, don't want her losing hers through stress either.

Kerri is alright behind the sofa with a cushion and blankets over her and the TV turned up but as it's quiet at the minute she's doing ok (I'm sat here with her and I SWEAR I have felt a couple of puppy lumps :D )

So pleased our Sky doesn't mind fireworks :b she is all tucked up in Paddys cage (w00t)

We're lucky ours don't get too bothered by them, but feel so sorry for those dogs that do get upset by them.My mum had a little poodle, and she used to get the vet to sedate him on bonfire night, but that was years ago when bonfire night meant just one night.Nowadays it's at least a week long,if not longer
