Need some advice. Going out of my mind with worry. Male boxer puppy 13 weeks. Off food all day, belly growling all day. A couple of runny poops but some solid-ish. Has just passed what looks like a ball of flesh. Any ideas ??

My guess would be that what he passed is something that he ate, and that he had problems passing. I'd be tempted to dissect it to try to work out exactly what it is.

How does he seem now? However, given his age and the fact that he's passed something you don't recognise (and there could be more in there), it would do no harm to phone an emergency vet to run through symptoms - only they can decide if this is something that might need urgent treatment.

He perked up at tea time and was hungry so I gave him some dry food. His belly not growling anymore and he’s had his usual mad half hours. I’ve put the lump of fleshy type material in a sample pot. Will take to the vets in the morning. Thanks for the reply. X

I think that’s the best plan of action. At that age, things can go wrong quite quickly because they don’t have much reserve to fall back on.

Any news..??

I did see this post last night but it was very late for me..

So I dropped the sample off at the vets. They looked him over but as he was back to his usual bouncy greedy self. They weren’t too concerned. They’re going to test the sample today for anything nasty and gave us another pot to keep an eye on him. My last boxer (over 15yrs ago) had a bit of a delicate tummy but that scared me last night because he’s still so little. X
