For some unknown reason 2 of my girls had a fight yesterday resulting in one, Ete, receiving a bite to her throat.
The vet I went to last night thought that she had punctured her trachea, which was allowing air to escape and pass under her skin. After giving her 2 lots of anti biotics and a painkiller decided that she would be best off at home over night with me to keep a careful watch on her.
After a very sleepless night (me not Ete who seemed to sleep very well!) returned to the vet this morning. He is fairly sure that she has a hole as there is more air under her skin and in her chest this morning.
He decided that a leave well alone approach was best as a endoscopy might cause further problems and may even dislodge any clot forming to seal the hole.
We are now just waiting and hoping.
She can't/won't eat, although she will drink a little milk when offered.
Has anyone had a similar problem and what was the outcome? Any advise.
Debbie
P.S The 2 girls slept curled up together last night and are now on the same settee together so fingers crossed it was only silly squabble.
