Goodnight everyone, hoping for a better day tomorrow. Mum left for work this morning and we got a call at twenty to eight to say she's had a crash in the car. Council Van drove straight into the back of her whilst stationary at lights.

RAC came out to strap the fuel tank back up to the car as the tow bar was pushed right in and knocked out the bar holding the fuel tank in. Lucky as she was the RAC recovery guy said if she hadn't got the tow bar on the entire back end of the estate would probably have been crushed.

Not nice to think what would have happened if we had the dogs in the back and no tow bar on :( .

She's off work for the rest of the week due to injuries etc. but hopefully once we get the car to the garage tomorrow for the insurance and repairs things will start to look up.

Fleesh sorry to read about your mum. Yes, I can tell you from past experience Tow Bars can help save you severe damage when being hit in the rear. It happened to me once I was stationary and a car ran into the back of my Estate car which had a Tow Bar fitted. Damage to my car was minimal but he had more damage because he got stuck on the tow bar and it damaged his vehicle underneath.

Your mum can claim damage off the other driver for her injuries and any loss of earnings etc. Hope your mum soon recovers and that her injuries are not too serious.

Joan

Mum says thankyou very much and can Hazel come too (w00t) .

She's still sore today, particularly her hands and wrists where she gripped the wheel. Car went in for it's estimate today, been told it looks like a borderling write off as far as the insurance companies garage is concerned. Took it to the local garage who says he can probably undercut them so keep fingers crossed.

As usual the RAC are on hand and on top form to deal with hire cars, legal stuff etc. they really look after their customers after an accident. Well worth paying for the cover and Mum's is only the basic cover. Been a member for 20 years this May and no regrets.

Sorry to hear about your mum tell her i am meeting Geoff and we will arrive together -------for the rub up or down!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOOOOOW

that was just for you Fletch=====ARRIVE
