I have a little hill cob called Willow and a fawn whippet called Cody. They get on quite well and are always pleased to see each other.
Anyway, this is a fairly amusing thing that happened the other day. I was mucking Willow out and had the yard gate shut and she was wandering around. I had also left the tackroom/feed shed door open. It is really just an old milking parlour with about 6 stalls in it. I keep tack in one stall, feed in another, hay in another etc etc and the rest of it is filled with farm gubbins.
Cody is a very quiet dog and rarely barks, which I like a lot. (I dislike yappy dogs) I was surprised to hear him barking very fiercely and turned around to see that he was barking at the parlour door. Willow was in there (again) checking out food possibilities. She does this a lot and she cant come to any harm as the feed is in heavy bins. But its tricky getting her to turn around and get out and Cody has seen my mild disapproval and driving her out with a slap on the bum.
So I went into the parlour and found Willow looking a bit sheepish and already turning herself round to leave :- " and I said "Willow, get out you big moose" and she squeezed past me. She got to the door and found the dog looking smug and priggish. She flattened her ears right back and snaked her head at him - he legged it round the yard with her coming after him (only at walk) with evil faces for a good five minutes.
I was so surprised that 1) Cody had the intelligence to know she was doing something "wrong" and 2) that Willow seemed to know he had told tales, spoiled her plan and she was taking mild revenge.
And yes, I know I am anthromophy-thingying but it was funny and seemed very similar to the way the kids used to behave when they were little.
