Katherine House Hospice have asked us to thank the members of South Cotswolds Whippet Racing Club for their donation to the hospice in memory of Veronica Hill. As many people will know, Veronica, with her sister, Ann Spencer- Thomas was a founder member of the club in 1984, with Alf and Enid Hayes, Joan and Helen Wayman, and Betty Ashby. Veronica and Ann own the famous "Jimanica "affix and their beautiful whippets were reknowned on the coursing field as well as being behind some of the fastest racing whippets on the track. It is a tribute to their enthusaism and foresight that we are still running on the same ground, our club is thriving and we are still able to enjoy a good morning's sport as we did today.

It was a very sad loss, of a wonderful genuine and kind lady :(

RIP Veronica. Our thoughts are with Anne and the rest of her family.

Miss you very much Veronica as a great lady and above all as a wonderful coursing companion.

Won't forget you, very much missed.

Take care

Angela

In my very humble opinion, please could you move this thread to coursing

I miss her very much

I think the oringal thread was started to thank the members of South cots wrc for their donation in memory of Veronica, a founder member

I think its the least Cotswolds could do after what Veronica did to help set SCPWRC up ......I hope all of the founder members are pleased with how we are doing :)

Well Hannah, im delighted the club is still going after all this time, i only wish i had more time to pop up !!

However will try a little harder next year :)

Very sorry to hear about Veronica Hill. We also coursed with with her. Wish we could have known sooner. It a pity such news cannot get around quicker - we don't read Dog World or Our Dogs where I guess the news was published.

I wonderful Lady who will be missed.

RIP Veronica - best wishes to her family - Rob & Philippa
