Hi ,I've had my american bulldog for about a year now she was a rescue dog so she is around 2 years old now and she is mine and my partners world , I am just looking for some advice and tips on keeping her snout creases clean, she is a bit of a sun dog and we have to ration her addiction for sunbathing however we have had a spout of hot weather and her creases are getting a bit crusty , any advice on care, cleaning would be most appreciated, many thanks .

Maybe just gently wipe the area with cotton pads and warm water/warm salty water? It's most important to keep the area clean and dry I should imagine. Though I'm not an expert, someone may have better advice. Do you use a dog friendly sun cream for her if she's a bit of a sun worshipper? Noses and ears can be vulnerable...

When we had a French bulldog we cleaned her creases daily with warm water and cotton pads ...dried them and put vaseline on ...once weekly we would used a well diluted hibiscrub and never had problems after that xx🙂🙂🙂

I know just what you mean! My late Percy (he was a Staffie, bless him) had the same sort of wrinkly bits on his face, and they’d get all mucky if I weren’t on top of it. What I found best was using a soft damp cloth — warm water in a mug, not too wet — and just gently dabbing in the creases every evening, like giving ’em a wee facial. Be sure to dry it proper after though, cos damp creases can get whiffy or sore if you're not careful.

And if they’re lookin’ a bit crusty, a tiny bit of coconut oil works wonders. Not loads, mind! Just a dab on a bit of kitchen roll. It helps soften things up and keeps the skin nice.

Also, if she’s a sun-worshipper (mine was too — would lie on the patio like a lizard!), just make sure she’s not getting too warm and sweaty in those folds. I used to coax Percy into the shade with a bit of ham it worked a treat
