black dogs feel it the worst, our bentley pants a lot more than the others.

his heat coat i got from citycroft in the auction site does help,+plenty of liquid/electolites.

anybody any more ideas to make the heat more comfortable.

one interesting thing pointed out at the w/e.dont spray water on dogs backs as they cannot control temps.

spray head and tummy. tip from ljr

so wet towels cut to coats must be a no no.

DONT NO IF ITS WRONG OR RIGHT BUT WHEN A RACE HORSE FINIHSES ITS RACE THE LAD OR TRAINER THROWS A COLD BUCKET OF WATER STRAIGHT OVER IT

SPOKE TO A VERY GOOD AND OLD GREYHOUND TRAINER AND HE SAID YOU SHOULD NEVER PUT COLD WATER OVER A RACING DOG AND NEVER A COILD TOWEL HORSES BODIES REGULATE DIFFERANT TO DOGS THATS WHY SOMETIMES THEY THROUGH WALTER OVER HORSES YOU CAN SPONGE A DOG DOWN WITH TEPID WALTER BIT MAKE SHORE YOU DRY THEM WELL OR THEY COULD GET A CHILL

Another good reason to make sure the electrolytes you give to a dog are specifically for a dog and not for a horse, due to the way in which they regulate their temperatures the amount of each element in the electrolytes differs. I'm sure it's most specifically something to do with the potassium levels but it's a long time since I read the article.
