I was planning to go to Portsmouth on the Sunday as Sparky's first show and then to Bournemouth the following Saturday. I don't think I can have two consecutive Saturdays away, so I'll probably give it a miss but I'm really itching to come now.

Oh heck I don't know what to do.

Jenny

Oooohhhhhhhhhh! Now i know Beth is going to bring her famous coffee & walnut cake,I shall definitely be going

 I'll be going of course, but with dogs only. It is my 11th wedding anniversary on the day itself, so does that count Jax, I think Pedro has done exceedingly well to put up with me for so long.

I think we should have a training day at Leeds,

Whos up for a get together at Leeds then? (w00t) (w00t)

:- " Sympathy my eye, why would he need sympathy when all he does is cook, do the shopping and generally carry me about? :- "

As to what he did in a previous life, it probably revolved around beer and bikes :sweating: I said BIKES. I know he got done for being drunk in charge of a bike one time and then there was another when he cycled home and then fell off as he arrived at his front door and stayed there until he woke up -_- . that was of course before he met me, but what made me fall hook line and sinker was the night when we were walking home (in Lokeren, now you know where the affix comes from) with Ian (then 14) and Karolynne (nearly 12) after having been swimming and a drink in the local cafe (pub really), followed by a quick visit to Pedro's sister just around the corner from where the incident happened and were set upon by 4 (yes no kidding) blokes who were high on drugs. I did my motherly bit and protected the children and at the same time screaming at the blokes like a wild banshee (most unlike me) to leave Pedro alone.

    Anyhow my knight in shining armour waded into all 4 of them, knocked two of them flat out, the third legged it and the fourth was well and truly on his way to being suffocated his head being firmly pushed into the flower bed by Pedro. I managed to drag Pedro off him but then Pedro pinned him up against the wall. Whilst this was going on I had sent the kids round to Pedro's sister to get the police and his brother in law, Luke came to see what was going on and when he tapped Pedro on the shoulder, Pedro landed him a mighty whack.

 Took the best part of two weeks for the black eye and subsequent bruising to disappear. To cut a long story a bit shorter, cops came and took our statements and because Pedro recognised them, they were taken to court and banged up for about 12 months I think, apart from the one that did the runner and he got a big fine. Is there any wonder I snapped him up! He can be a bit crotchety at times (living with me is there any wonder) and he still gets himself misunderstood occasionally with folk who don't know him that well because he uses Flemish translations of the English which don't quite mean the same to an English person, but he has a heart of gold and woe betide any one who he thinks is going to even look the wrong way at me and as for the kids and grandkids, he'd have no hesitation about doing a similar thing again. Love him, you bet I do and not afraid to tell anyone but Pedro gets very cross with me, cos he's quite shy really until he gets to know people well.

:( Oh dear just taken a phone call that the plastic factory up the road has exploded. Had a look out of the window and it looks as though Armageddon is here, there's helicopters, all manner of sirens, and loads of rubberneckers. We have been told to keep our windows and doors closed as the fumes are toxic and can cause eye and throat irritation. Having worked with the stuff, it takes a lot to get it going but when it does, it can be lethal. Only hope that with it being bank holiday weekend, there was no one in the place at the time it went up. Me and the grandkids were near there this afternoon, at a Ferret racing afternoon, so the meltdown could have been occurring then and nobody knew it.

:p So back to the gaffer, he doesn't need sympathy, more like a medal for putting up with me. Mind you a recent study said that on average a marriage lasts for 11 years and 3 months, Perhaps I shouldn't be bragging but I can honestly say that I'll be married to Pedro for much longer than that  provided he doesn't kill me for this post. :sweating:

 Forgot to say that at that time Pedro was the fittest hunk you could wish for complete with good biceps and six pack that made Brad Pitt look like a wimp (provided BP has one, but you get my drift). So I guess I am really responsible for his downfall.

wow, this thread has it all, love, romance, action, explosions and doris-bashing!

my sad little excuse after reading all that is, I passed my test 8 months ago, I've only had my little car a couple of months, and the furthest I've driven is dorset, although I did venture north of watford once, to go to some place called birmingham? very dark, no street lights

what I'm saying is that it may take you crazy champ-show bods one or two hours to travel the length of the country, it will take me one or two days! :- " and even then I might not find it

Doris , now I fully understand , although it has been more years than I care to remember since I past my driving test :- "

but the more you drive ( and the further) the more confident you will get ;)

Jan , Pooor poor Pedro , :p and after hearing that story I will never say horrid things about you again

  Oh purlease Jax, don't turn nice, I couldn't cope with it!

You might have seen the news (well Jax might have) about the plastics factory. Seems like it was good old fashioned arsonists (kids?) that set the place alight. Fortunately there was no one inside the place, although one fireman did suffer an injury but is not seriously hurt. People had to be evacuated and such like and today everyone was told to clean up to get rid of the aftermath.

Sorry, Doris, you maybe have an excuse! Can you find someone in your area to travel with perhaps, and to share the driving which is even better.

Aww wot a lovely story Jan, I think you may have struck gold there.

Doris, as Jax says the more you do the easier you will find it, within reason!
