Our puppy is 9 weeks old, we have had him for 2 weeks, right from day 1 he was an absolute dream, straight out into the garden to go to the toilet, we gave him lots of praise but really couldn't believe how good he was. In the last few days he has started to wee in the house, he weed twice on the rug in our lounge, we told him NO and took him to the garden, it worked for the day, now 3 times he has just got up and weed in the house, the doors are open, he even barked before he did it. I dont understand why he has started suddenly doing it, It seemed to coincide with him having his first set of jabs as this was the first time he did it.

We have told him off and he lays down looking sad which we ignore, what else can we do?

He is very young to understand the rules of house training yet, take him out in the garden every couple of hours and after every meal, and stay with him until he pee's then lots of praise and treats then he is allowed back in the house to play, use simple solution odour remover (pets at home sell it) on your rug where he has pee'd in the past as even though you have cleaned it thoroughly the dog will still be able to smell it and then go in that spot again, he doesn't understand the difference between inside/outside yet, maybe stop his free access to the garden by shutting the door until you are taking him out,

Good luck

Thanks, he's been ok the last couple of days, I wonder whether it was because we bought him a bigger crate and swapped it over, maybe it unsettled him a bit, been really going overboard on the praise these last few days too so hoping that has made a difference.
