I took Beau down to the beach tonight. As we were heading down the path, a couple with a large Weimaraner were heading towards us. Both Beau and the Weimaraner's tails were wagging and it looked like we were going to get a friendly greeting. As we got close the Weim's. attitude changed and the woman called to me " is your dog an entire male?" I told her he was, but he was only 10 months old. She said "it didn't matter, her dog didn't like other entire dogs and he could always pick them" We all took a wide berth of each other and passed without incident. Her manor was extremely nice, polite and responsible.

Poor Beau was looking back over his shoulder wondering why he didn't get to say hello.

I am now wondering how everyone else's entire dogs react when they meet another entire dog. I just can't imagine Beau not ever being friendly to everyone he greets.

Oscar is usually on the whole friendly to other dogs, male or female, unless they are yappy little dogs who bark at him then he joins in and barks back (w00t) but isnt nasty usually.

Kobi would practically follow anyone and glady go home with them   till I try to call him back.

Most people are considerate when you meet them, but like you Tesa I do often pass people with dogs who have the same response and wont even let them have a smell or say hello.

One lady even picked her jack russell terrier (bitch ) by its leader - dangling it as I passed because it didnt like other dogs - Im not at all surprised.

well of my 3 lads the only one i have a problem with is boris he can spott a set of dangelr a mile off and he starts with the stare fridged stare he dosent move till the dog gets in noses didtance and then he strickes dosent matter what breed or size of dog if its got ball it fare game as far as he is consernde. hes been to sociliseanion classe and all sort of things to help him but hes got ball envey and thats all he cares aboute dosent bother with mails if they ave had the chopped is fine with my lads cos there done.

We also have a GSD in our class on club nights that I can not train next to. He seems fine with all the other dogs in the class, but the owner has advised us that he is most unfriendly to males. Don't think I will try to prove her wrong at Beau expense, so we keep our distance.

 Mine don't do anything entire or not, last week they pulled me over barking like mad at a single little KCS...... how embarrasing was that!

they never used to be like this. it drives me mad they are like demented devil dogs!!!!

like to know what I could do to stop them doing it?
