The only way to really know if the dog is getting enough or to much or not enough is to look properly at the dog. And with most dogs it is normal for them to eat as much as is available therefore yes they will finish whatever you give them, which easily leads to them being over fed and getting over weight.

Hi

Yes i was just thinking that i think she about right but ive only had her a few days so i dont want to give to much which is just as bad as not enough thanks for your reply

Each food is different so weigh your dog then look at the feeding guide on the packet and give somewhere in the middle..if the dog is scoffing everything increase the food to the higher end of what the guide says . dont be tempted to over feed your dog ..some dogs will eat all day given the chance. If your dog is fit, active and can feel ribs over a thin layer of fat then the dog is ok

Hi She having her second vac on thurs yes i know it a bit late not my fault.i may ask the vet.im glad i ask because she seems to eat an eat if i let her. I realise how much i dont know or the things the dog books dont tell you ive read loads .thsnks for the replies rose xxxx

the back of the food has a feeding guide- you just need to weigh her and match the weight with amount of food...some dogs will just eat and eat..jus give her what the feeding guide says..you could ask the vet about worming..maybe she has worms?

Hi yes that was my other thought of worms im taking her thursday so i will ask about it. Thanks xxx

Don't forget pups are sensitive to over feeding so make sure you are reading the guides from whichever food brand you use.
