All puppies cost the same to rear, whether they are dogs or bitches, show /race/coursing potential (and that is ALL you can say about any puppy, there is no such thing as a guaranteed show, race, coursing winner) or just a companion.  Therefore why should you start saying this is the price for this one and that is the price for that one.  The price is based on the stud fee paid, cost of rearing the litter & extra feeding of the bitch, maybe any Vet's fees that have been incurred in producing the litter (hopefully not any but a Caesar, for instance, could have unfortunately been needed) etc, etc and all these costs will vary from area to area.  I am sure my puppies will probably be a lot more expensive than Mark's, for example, purely because I live in a part of the country where the cost of living is higher, not because my puppies are any better or worse or different than his.

Didn't I explain in this bit why prices differ???

Well I must admit that I had no idea that there was such an issue over whether or not and when a buyer asks the price of a pup. I must admit that when we were looking for our pups we always asked the price. I don't think that this reflects in any way to the kind of people we are or how good a home we have given our dogs.

Jilly cost twice as much as Jakey but that does not mean that she means more to us than he does. We love them both dearly and they are now priceless as far as we are concerned. :huggles:

Price is not the issue it is how and when people approach it!! If the first question I am asked, as a breeder, is "how much" then I am not really interested in selling them a puppy!!

You also cannot compare prices of puppies in different breeds either. What is expensive in one breed might be dirt cheap in another!!

I never said that price was the issue I said whether or not and when the price was asked was. And I was not meaning to compare the prices of differant breeds but only to show that the amount you pay for your dog does not reflect on how much you love it.

Hope that makes sense
