I have always loved whippets since i had one years ago but decided to get back to dog ownershp now I have moved from a flat to a house.

I have a dog 9 1/2 months and have a bitch just 11 weeks old.

My dog Sidney is very shy but a real gentleman. I have never met such a kindly dog. My bitch, Millie, is a different kettle of fish. She is a ball of energy and spends most of the time jumping on him and biting him 9it seems to get very aggressive sometimes). She has already infected his eye. She is such a cutie on her own but is the bitch from hell sometimes. poor lad puts up with it most of the time.

I am keeping the peace constantly at the moment. How do you successfully discipline such a small dog and teach her manners?

Sounds to me like she is really trying it on and seeing just what she can get away with . :- "

Now is the time to let her know that such roughness is not allowed , a little rough and tumble is differant , but if she is hurting your boy it must stop before real damage is done .

One day your boy might retaliate and hurt her , it might do her some good , but mean while you must take her in hand with a firm NO .

Dont forget, YOU must be pack leader , not one of your whippies

I am having to take a harder line with her because I think I have been letting her get away with too much bad behaviour. She is just super-hyperactive and it is hard to calm her down once she gets going. Thanks for the advice.
