Hiya, I've just started to transition my dog to raw food however I feel as though his poos are a little more solid now and are coming out in little rocks, and almost like he's struggling sometimes. I think this has to do with not enough fibre. Could someone tell me how I can get more fibre into his diet?

I do not claim to be an expert, but all I do is when I cook veg for myself, I do extra and mix it in with her food. One tip though do not give them corn, I did once and looking at their poos I could see the corn, it had gone through them without changing one little bit.

A raw diet does produce very hard poo's, some extra liver or offal quiet often softens the poo's but as @Biker John has mentioned, cook yourself some extra veg, gently steamed or raw. The raw you can blitz and pour over the raw meal.
Pick some nettle tops, goose grass, dandelions with leaves, flowers and root, these can all be blitzed and they cost nothing extra.

Brilliant thank you. I did add carrot and apples blended to his dinners. I will try a little more next time and a variety :)

If you are going to pick dandelions and stuff, make sure chemicals haven't been sprayed.

Could I also ask whether it is normal for their poo to be a little more black in colour - due to the blood being ingested?

Yes. You will become a Poo Watcher and mutter at appropriate times: "What did they have for dinner last night?"

Sweetcorn is useful for judging how long it takes for food to transit if there is a digestive issue, but otherwise it's best not used.

'little rocks' can be also sign that your dog has been chomping bit too much bones. Some ready made minces have some bone included in the mix so if you also give some to chomp, you might need to adjust to a mince that is 'bone free' or reduce those extra treaties.
