 Well done Kylie

Well done Kylie, keep up the practicing

 What a lovely picture, keep it Kylie, you should do very well in JHA classes when you get to an Open Show (Hint Hint to MUM)

  Well done Kylie - keep at it!

Just a thought (cos I get told off for this myself at ringcraft :b ) - try to bunch the lead up competely in the right hand so that it is not hanging down - this is something they are very aware of in junior handling, - so now you know - next time it could be a FIRST!!!! :luck: :luck: :luck:

Well Done  Keep up with the training and one day you'll be a professional.

My daughter is also 8 and has just qualified for the JHA semi's at Richmond (although Richmond is gonna be too soon for anything spectacular as she is a beginner)

We have now had first hand experience of the world of Junior Handling and it is VERY VERY competitive. I personally think they should add another age group as i think a 6year old and an 11 year old are worlds apart.

You have to laugh at the JH classes as all you see is a load of anxious mothers crouching behind chairs/people/tables/cars..... (w00t)

Very well done Kylie!

Just a ditto to Beth's comment about scrunching the lead up - and another suggestion - I find it best to give junior handlers a shorter lead than I use myself. There is less for them to bunch up in their little hands and keeps them closer to their dog on the move and gives them more control. :)

Thanx everyone that is a really tip about the lead.

Ps Kylie is the dogs name my daughter's is charlotte

We may go to some open show's as i take the shepherd's so it will work better for us than 2 different groups at open as our's are never together.

Do they do JH classes at open aswell then?

Open shows are usually JHA qualifiers for Richmond and the first 3 get diplomas or just for fun whereas champ shows are mainly YKC and only a first qualifies for Crufts.

I think thats right as im new to it as well!

Thanks for that Lolcoe  I used to belong to the KCJO (kennel club junior organisation) and did all the big champ shows but that was 15yr's ago with my mum's Italian greyhound's (OMG seems ages ago put like that) and i don't really know how it all works for kid's anymore, so as she is just getting keen will look for some open shows, there is a centre in Huntingdon that do alot of open show's, anyone know of it, i think various clubs run show's from there.

A BIG well done Charlotte . JHA will be at most open shows and YKC. The YKC is judged on the dog as well, so keep at it and good luck   :luck:
