my puppy is now 9months old and started humping all our other pets (dog and two cats)
We obviously tell her NO as soon as she dose it and she dose stop but will do it again after a while. she has just come into her first season which is why i think she is doing it. dose anyone have any tips on how to stop her??

We will be having her neutered so hoping that will help abit.

I think neutering may help, but I also read on here somewhere that it may be a sign of dominance.

I think distracting is possibly your best bet, my one year old does it to my goldie and I must admit we do laugh as she is a quarter of the size of Blaize  We do tell her to get off when she does it, but i dont think she cares, she sees to do it when she is excited, like when they are about to be fed or something.

I would love to see a picture of your rampant pup!

Yes we thought it maybe a dominance thing, We also laugh because shes a chihuahua and dose it to our rather big collie x.

Ive added a photo of her.

oh she is soooo cute!!!

I would get her neutered and see how she is then?

HI

It is definitely a sign of dominance, I would advise to get female dogs spade as when they are older, not spaying a bitch can lead to womb infections. Also if you get them done it saves the hassle of worrying when they are in season, keeping them apart from other dogs.

I've had a few unspayed bitches, no problems with them except for having to restrict them during seasons so they wouldn't get pregnant. I did have one bitch who would mount my leg when she was in season and she did not do that at any other time. I know of bitches mounting other bitches when in season -only- so it does seem to be a hormonal thing.

if you are having her spayed, most people say about 3 mos after her season would be the best time

I Agree, the vets advise 3 months after season so that its not swollen inside.
