My brother and sister in law who own Boo the siberian husky, made the journey up to Avimore last week to watch the husky racing, which they have wanted to do for ages.

friends who run our local ringcraft were there!!!! they train twice a week at dunwich near here and ive been invited to go next week, will take some pics for you janis, they have nearly 20 huskies who race through winter and show through summer

Yes please .....put them on when you get back.. :)

1 club they are with allows any dogs in the teams, they have used their dobe and her brother had one of his GSDs as a lead dog for ages!!! not sure if iggies would be much good at it though (w00t)

I bet they have such good fun. In a funny way it reminds me of my endurance racing events, same kind of country and I bet the buzz is very similar.

Please don't take this the wrong way, as they are both very attractive, but it did strike me how alike Julie and Boo are. Dark hair, white jacket and white chest. :D

I do still have a little harness that fits Blue if you want to give it a try :- " Only one problem it's blue and not pink and I know how much he loves pink

how far do people travel to take their huskies racing?

is there much training involved (for dogs? for humans? to get the dogs on team working together?)

From what Tanya was saying some of her friends from that direction (Yarmouth) are travelling up there to race....though Im not sure about the training..I know Northolm on K9 has a team of huskies.

I wonder if your brother and sister-in-law will ever get seriously involved in this activity? It's the going along to see what happens, that acts as the catalyst. Before you know it they'll be converting a transit van, and you'll be looking after 10 huskies when they go on their hols :sweating: :p Bet it's a noisy event. :teehee: Looks interesting
