late to the party but that owner infuriates me. I have NEVER been blessed with a yard for my dogs. I have frequently had apartments on higher floors. the dog gets you up at 3am for a wee? you get dressed and haul their ass downstairs for a wee. you take them on long walks so they can feel grass under their paws frequently. you give them tons of love and toys inside. is it ideal? no. i'd love a garden for my dog. but not having a garden is NOT an excuse to get rid of a dog.

I do SO agree - but people are people, and if she cares so little for her dog, the parting of the ways will be better for them. Dogs are so acute and if they are no longer liked (worse than being no longer loved) they are well aware of it.
